Cassi Hernandez is a dedicated military family advocate, community leader, and communications professional with extensive firsthand experience navigating military life, deployments, and the unique challenges faced by service members and their families.

As the spouse of a United States Marines during the war in Afghanistan, Cassi brings both personal experience and professional expertise to her work supporting military-connected communities.

Currently serving as the PCS Safety Fellow for Secure Families Initiatives and Chair of the Black Caucus, Cassi is committed to elevating the voices of military families and advancing policies that improve their quality of life. She has contributed to advocacy efforts surrounding the Military Family Bill of Rights and the PCS Safety Campaign, helping raise awareness of the challenges military families face during relocations and advocating for meaningful policy improvements.

Throughout her years of service to the military community, Cassi has volunteered as a Family Readiness Volunteer with the United States Marine Corps, served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader, and organized numerous educational and community-focused events on and near military installations. These experiences have reinforced her belief in the importance of strong support networks and informed her approach to empowering military families throughout every stage of their journey.

In addition to her military family advocacy, Cassi’s passionate about raising awareness of domestic violence and supporting efforts to strengthen systems that protect survivors and promote accountability. She believes education, advocacy, and community engagement are powerful tools for creating lasting change and safer communities.

Cassi is pursuing a Paralegal Certificate through George Mason University’s Continuing and Professional Education program.
