Rebecca Nowatchik is an educator, facilitator, and community organizer with 20+ years of experience managing successful legislative and corporate campaigns focused on the economy, occupational safety, and community wellbeing. Rebecca facilitates the collaboration of SFI’s organizational strategies, forges relationships with key partners, and manages the organization’s member campaign infrastructure.
Prior to joining the SFI team, Rebecca taught middle school, developed community education curriculum, and has served in an executive role at a community organization focused on improving community health and quality of life. Rebecca’s work has led to historic enforcement actions against perpetrators of occupational and environmental crimes, significant reductions in toxic exposures to communities, and established substantial new funding streams to support workers and communities in transitioning economies.
Rebecca’s first-hand knowledge as a military spouse and daughter of a combat veteran has fueled her passion to improve the lives of all military families. Rebecca holds a Masters in Nonprofit Management from Canisius College.
