Invest In Our Work
This year, Secure Families Initiative is working toward an ambitious fundraising goal that will provide the resources for us to execute our new and improved priorities in 2024. Giving Tuesday a timely and important opportunity for us to build our community of support for our vital work!
Here is a small glimpse of what we accomplished in 2023:
- Brought active-duty military family members to Washington, DC to meet with 26 Members of Congress about prioritizing diplomacy, racial equity, and a stronger democracy;
- Gained national media attention for mobilizing over 1,500 active-duty family members to stand up to Senator Tuberville’s bullying as he threatens our national security and democracy by blocking military senior leaders. We gained bi-partisan support from Senate leadership and won the introduction of Senate Resolution 444 which, if passed, will create a temporary path past the one-Senator blockade;
- Pushed back against bad-faith efforts to disenfranchise absentee voters in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio AND introduced voting rights legislation in four states that will make it easier for absentee voters to securely cast their ballots; and
- Organized military families to speak out on the impacts of a potential government shutdown, which was avoided after our national media blitz and grassroots letter campaign.
